| ||What things have gone wrong with the car?||Engine could use a little more power, but it gets the job done. Power windows roll up very slow.|
| ||General comments?||I purchased my 96 camry in Mar. of 99 with 59000 mi on the odometer. Within 2 days the inadequate stereo system was replaced from top to bottom. One of the good things was that the receiver opening is Double-din so you can put a slick lookin head unit that fits perfect in there. I chose the JVC XC770 and anyone who has been in the car says it looks great. Infinity Kappa speakers were added all around and they be rockin'.I also upgraded the entire suspension with KYB struts, Eibach springs, 17 in TSW wheels, with Michelin tires. Warning: if you do this you must roll the fenders, as I found out the hard way. On a trp to the beach shortly after I put the rims on,I kept hearing noises from the tires. I got out to check and found that the inner lip of my rear wheelwells was coming down and cutting into my sidewalls. Luckily I caught it in time where not much damage was done, but it still pissed me off. My only mechanical repairs have been replacing the timing belt (300.00) at 81k and just last week I had to have a new flex pipe welded into the exhaust (120.00) at 83k. I have had no other problems in the 24k miles except for one electronic that still has not even attempted to be fixed because it is so odd. There are three tiny light bulbs behind the vent|
